Shocktober is an annual event that takes place at the historic Paxton Manor located in Leesburg, Virginia. Each weekend in October, Paxton Manor is transformed into a terrifying haunt that is frequented by thousands of patrons looking for the scare of a lifetime.
Built in the late 1800s, the mansion was built over an underground lake and has become the topic of countless urban legends and a must-see attraction for thrill-seekers and ghost hunters from Loudoun County and the entire Washington, DC area.
While Shocktober provides patrons with a chilling adventure, it also serves as a fundraiser for Paxton Campus – the location of the manor.
Paxton Campus, a 501(c)3 non-profit, has been serving children and families in need for 90 years. Having served as a convalescent center, daycare, and an orphanage, Paxton Campus has grown into a full-service organization with multiple programs that together provide an integrated and innovative learning environment for children of all ages and abilities.
With four separate programs designed to educate and serve special needs students of all ages, Paxton Campus is a fantastic organization with an impactful purpose.
